Short Update

Seriously?!? It's been THREE entire months to the day since I've updated my blog....holy cow...I really stink at this. Wow. Well, good news: I have a new camera on it's way!!! Goal with new camera--that would be take TONS of pictures and UPDATE THE BLOG!!!!! Until then, here's a bit of our new updates!!!! :)

First and very most exciting.....We're expecting again!!! YAY!!!! Due date is June 30th. Just a couple more weeks until I can feel "out of the woods" so to speak. So far, this one is WAY more different that Livi. Still never actually have been sick (thank lucky stars) but I have been oh so nauseous and must eat at the very least every single hour. We did get to see baby at the first ultrasound and boy oh boy was baby moving like CRAZY! Now I understand the whole eating constantly!! Speaking of boy...everyone seems to think that it's a boy already. Everyone except Livi that is. She's determined that baby is a girl and that her name will be Octopus. That's right everyone Octopus. Don't ask.....

Second super exciting news: WE ARE NOT MOVING!!!!! WAHOO!!! I'm SO excited!!! Jade got a job here in Twin at the plant that he's been doing his internship at all summer. He starts on the 19th. SO happy!!! I wasn't really looking forward to moving and having a new little one without any family.

So life is super amazing right now!! I do promise that I will be better about posting and updating pictures!!! I can't not keep up on this!!!

Olivia started pre-school today!!!! Can't believe it!!! She's getting oh so big. I love it!
Doesn't she look all grown up??? She was SO excited to go to school this morning! LOVE our daycare, Diana (the greatest daycare lady EVER!) does the pre-school in the back of the room. They have a little table with tiny chairs all around it. Cutest thing!

This is the treat bag that they got to decorate and then Diana filled it with candy...that's it, I'm signing up for this pre-school thing...We had to get a picture of her Dora backpack. I swear she could probably fit in it...

She told me on the way home that pretty soon she'll be big enough to drive my car. Oh holy bananas, let's not go there quite yet please!!! I want to soak up as much pre-schooler as possible before we must deal with teenage drama! :)

Olivia Rose turned 3 yesterday!!!!! It is rather unreal. I keeping asking myself that good old cliche: Where did the time go!!!!!!!
We had a very fun day! We talked to Robin and Jacob for a bit in the morning and took a drive to Kimberly for a picnic lunch at the park.

Grandma Kim and Grandpa John got Livi a swing/slide set for her birthday. She could hardly wait to go out and try it out! It's the perfect size and I think she's gone down that slide close to a hundred times already! We filled her little pool and put it at the end of the slide. She was SO excited to get her swimming suit and have her own water slide! Her friend Lily came over too!

Those two girls played until they were all wrinkly! I'm going to miss summer. There is nothing more cute than a little toddler tummy and bummy in a bikini!!!! :)

We had a delicious BBQ dinner (thanks to John!) with some family and friends. I have a wonderfully talented friend from work that made Livi's cake! When I asked Livi about a month ago what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday, she told me chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and Minnie Mouse. Yep, she's my kind of girl!! It pretty much turned out totally awesome!!!

Of course what party would be complete without balloons! I took Livi to Zurchers earlier in the week to pick out what colors she wanted, must say she did a very good job making a good rainbow! And we just had to have a big Minnie Mouse head to match the cake too. :)

We have lots to do this upcoming year before Livi turns....dare I say it....four. Ba-pa and Ra-ma got her a super cute hopscotch so we're working on her hopping skills. Her daddy got her a tiny ball and mitt and her friend Lily got her a little bowling set. I'm thinking that all breakables need to be put away for the next few months....

Oh Happy Birthday Olivia Rose!!! May the next year be more fun and memorable than the last! We love you SO much!!!

In three days Miss Olivia Rose will be three whole entire years old. I just can't believe it. Three.... She is no longer a baby, toddler is flying out the window, bring on the little girl! And might I add a very dramatic little girl. :)
Livi is a wonderful little girl. She is very energetic and full of love. She has a GREAT sense of humor and always makes us laugh. She's very methodical and has a reason for everything she does, even if I don't understand. Livi has been talking very well for quite a while. At first she was saying full sentences, those have now bloomed in paragraphs and stories. I LOVE it!!! She says things all the time that I can't believe she can comprehend. She uses words like "actually" and says things like "really mom" with this attitude that just won't quit.
She has her three year old check up the end of September. I'll be sure to post more later about her!!!
AND I do promise to post some pictures of her birthday!!!

Our First Family Vacation

WARNING: Slight picture overload ahead!!!!! Pace yourself!

We took our very first family vacation these last three days to Salt Lake City with the Hogle Zoo as our main destination. Olivia did amazing in the car with hardly any complaint. We stayed at the Plaza hotel near Temple Square. Livi was very impressed with the hotel and huge fluffy pillows! :)

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner that night and turned in early for the long day ahead.

We got to the zoo at about 11:00 in the morning the next day and surprisingly there were hardly any people there, it was wonderful!!

Livi was the most excited to see all the monkeys especially the spider monkeys that her grandma talked about. Unfortunately, this is what the spider monkeys were up to that day.....

Believe it or not, there are probably 4 or 5 monkeys all balled up in the corner there. It was nap time for quite a few animals. :)
I was looking forward to seeing the elephants the most since I have a memory is riding one at the Hogle Zoo when I was little. There was a new baby girl elephant that was almost 2, her name was Zuri and she was SO cute!!!This huge silver back gorilla came right up to the glass and just stared at Livi for the longest time. We tried to convince her to go stand by the glass so we could take a picture but she refused, can't say I really blame the girl....he was pretty intimidating!!

There was a carousel that she just had to ride! Too bad we can't fit one of these in our backyard.

I can't remember what these things are called but they look like a small rabbit with a kangaroo head type creature. Whatever they are, they're cute. Particularly the one in front with the adorable smile...

The giraffes were pretty awesome and had "whoa, long necks". The one in the back kept licking the doorway...weird.

The big egg at the Discovery Playground area that she wouldn't sit in without her daddy. May I add that he nearly got stuck in it too. Apparently the height requirement does exist for a reason.

After leaving the zoo filled with 3 hours of fun, we stopped at a "Beach-Mex" restaurant similar to Cafe Rio but in my opinion WAY better!! It was SO yummy!!!! I wanted to bring home gallons of their fresh salsa!!!

After we went back to the hotel room for a nice long nap, we went to the Gateway mall to do some shopping. The mall is only a few blocks from our hotel but we had to ride the train a.k.a. Utah Trax to get there.

After a while, poor Jade had enough of walking around stores with no purchasing success so we stopped by the arcade to waste some time and quarters. He won Livi enough tickets to buy a purple Care Bear. When I asked Livi what her new friend's name was, she quickly responded "go-egg-a". Where in the world she came up with that crazy name is way beyond me.

Our first family vacation was a smashing success and we can't wait to go on another one. Livi is already asking to go to the zoo tomorrow. :)

I have a one goal this week and that is to post WITH PICTURES our first family spring vacation when we return home tomorrow. I think it's rather sad and incredibly pathetic that I haven't posted anything since Halloween.....
But, I'd like all of you to know that I very regularly check up on all of you. Mainly because I think that your lives seem to be more interesting than mine most of the time.
This is a very classic example of a "journal" for me. I'm sure there are countless numbers of partially filled journals of mine. Page numbers would probably be the furthest that I would ever get.
So, stay tuned and I do promise to post something later this week!!!!

So I still remember learning how to spell the word Halloween in elementary school by singing that song. Which explains the spelling of my title. Those few Hollister Hawks may relate....

My WONDERFUL and extremely talented little sister made Olivia's Halloween costume once again this year. And of course since she is now a Minnesota official fan, Olivia was a Minnesota Twin baseball player. We attempted to get some pictures taken yesterday at CSI but of course Miss Livi was being two in every imaginable way. Dad still managed to get a pretty darned cute one though!!!

Don't let the cute little face fool you though, this is what the rest of the day was like.....

It was drama central. Oh to be two. She is quite the character though and talking like crazy!!

I am SOOO happy to say that she is fully and completely potty trained now!!! Wahoo!!! She caught on very quickly and has done awesome!! She even wakes up during the night to go. Brings on a whole new chapter in life though. There's nothing like screeching tires into a gas station parking lot and running into the bathroom trying to line the seat with a good thick layer of toilet paper while a little two year old does the potty dance!

We sure do love our Miss Livi Bear though!!! She's a crack-up and keeps us always on the run!

It's really quite pathetic how long it's been since I last posted anything on our blog. Now you can see why I have lots of half empty journals!

Olivia turned two on the 28th of August. Those two years have flown by WAY too fast. She is no longer baby and ALL little girl!! She sure is a character!!! A few things about our little Miss Livi:

*She LOVES shoes!! Has to have them on all the time. She has her favorites though, right now, a pair of flip flops! (Definitely my child!)

*She repeats everything said by everyone. The good, the bad, and sometimes the very ugly!

*She can say her ABC's! That's right!! The whole song!!! Thanks mom and daycare! The doctor was VERY impressed by that one!

*She LOVES her daddy. Daddy's girl through and through!

*She likes to pretend she is shy but is such a little ham after about 5 minutes. She loves to show-off. And she's quite good at it!

*She's a very good eater. Even likes brussel sprouts! :)

*She's very loving. Likes to give good hugs and kisses. She's very sensitive. Doesn't take much to discipline her! Most of the time, a somewhat stern no does the job!

Jade started his second semester of school the end of August. He has a full school schedule and still goes to work for his old boss every chance he gets. He's working SO hard and I'm SO proud of him and appreciate all he does!!!!

I'm happy to say that I recently took the Property and Casualty licensing test for insurance and PASSED!!! Wahoo!!!

I can't wait for the holidays coming up almost too fast! It's very stressful and crazy for everyone but I LOVE it!!! Bring on the family and friends and fun!!! Hope everyone out there that hasn't totally given up on my blogging abilities is well and happy! Loves to all!!!

Once Upon a Time

First of all, January 24th? Really?? That was the last time I posted anything?!? I'm really not very good at this whole blogging thing. I'm really good at keeping up on other people's posting, just not my own. I never feel like I have anything good to say, and when I do, I forget to write it down. Go figure.

Anyway, this time I have something VERY important to say, or at least I think it's important. I'm a day late, dollar short, and whatever the rest of that saying is but yesterday March 19, 2010 was the FIVE YEAR anniversary of my magnificent marriage!! Five years. I can't believe it's already been five years. I know all of you out there that can count your years of marriage on TWO hands and maybe even using your feet are probably rolling your eyes but hey, I think five years is a big thing! I have to say my only complaint would be that if the rest of my life and marriage goes by as fast as the last five years I'll always be wishing in the back of my little mind that it would slow down so that I can enjoy every single second without missing anything.
So for our big day Jade and I somehow convinced my parents to keep our VERY fussy, teething, slightly sick little monkey girl so that we could go to Boise overnight. Yes I know, not the most extravagant thing we could do but it was blissfully wonderful in the same.
We did some major shopping, eating, and sleeping all the while wondering and worrying about our little girlie, sick baby=no fun! And for the record, let it be said that Mr. Jade did in fact on this anniversary trip convince me (probably by letting me buy clothes/shoes) that he really needed to get these:

Oh, aren't they SO pretty. Yes I do believe that they will go lovely with the shoes I bought. He deserves them though. Any man that can handle going to school full time, being an amazing daddy, AND dealing with a crazy wife like me as well as he does deserves at least something to help hide the stress in his eyes!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HUBS!!! I love you more than anything and it just gets better each day!

I'm Just Sayin'

Sunday morning, sitting here on the couch, just had a yummy french toast breakfast, Livi's running around singing along with the Johnny Cash movie on the TV, I LOVE WEEKENDS!!

It has been so nice to have weekends off and be home at 5 every night. I love my new job! This was Olivia's first week back at daycare. After being home with daddy every day for almost 4 months, her little world turned upside down. She's going to the little daycare here in Filer that my sister and I actually went to when we were little. And I think after she gets over the initial shock of it, she might like it. We hope anyway.

Jade also finished his first week at school. And I think that after the initial shock of it, he might like it. :) I just hope that after two years when he graduates from CSI that he can fiind a job and will not have to continue on somewhere else. It must be hard to go back to school after being out for almost 8 years....8 years?!?! Wait, am I getting old???

Anyway, these are my random thoughts on a Sunday morning...

So....this is/was Olivia's Halloween costume this year. Yep, we're a little bit late on the pumpkin festivities! But I guess that's what happens when you don't have internet access where you live. (Booooo). By the way, thanks dad for this cute picture!! And if anyone else out there wants to see the many other adorable pictures that were taken at this session.....then come visit us!!!!!
While we're at it, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!! Hope you had a good one, almost a month ago. We had a great time! We invaded mom and dad's house for about a week, poor parents are probably still trying to recover and I bet their ears are still ringing from all of Livi's lovely "noise". Robin and Jacob were in the area too! It's so fun having all of us together! Love it!
And now....Merry Christmas! I'm actually early on this one but I figure I probably won't be blogging until after! And again Robin and Jacob are planning on coming home again for about a week! So excited!!!! Especially since this will be the last Christmas they are here before they move waaaayyy far away. At least now I'll have an excuse to get out of the state to visit! Minnesota here we come!! (hopefully this summer!)
In other fun news, we enrolled Jade at CSI today! Wahoo!! Looks like he's going to be majoring in Environmental Technology, which is going to be related to waste water management. So, he's not leaving the poo world....
And after December 19th....I no longer will have to go to bed at 8:00 at night to be able to get my rump out of bed SO early to be at work at 5 AM!!!!! That's right! I'm throwing in the towel at Freddies and I've taken a job at Premier Insurance! Normal hours people!! 8-5 and weekends off! WEEKENDS!!! Haven't seen one of those in MONTHS!!! Literally! I'll be working as a personal lines administrative assistant. Which means I'll be helping in the personal insurance department; home, auto, life insurance. I'm SOO excited to be able to spend more time with my family!

Changes!

Life is always changing in some way, whether big or small. Nothing seems to stay the same. Darnit! I am having a hard time convincing myself this is a good thing. Changes.
Jade is no longer working right at the moment, the new job didn't work out how we had hoped. So, now we are exploring new options! And I believe we've come up with a good plan! We are now going to try and rent out our house (if anyone is looking). Jade is going to find a part time job for a little while and then....he's going back to school!!!! Wahoo!! I'm SOO excited for him to go to school! We have been bugging him for years now to go back. He is so smart and will finally be able to use his brain for something other than cow poop and tractors!
He is going to get started here at CSI and then we will most likely transfer and move to Boise so he can finish! He's looking into the Civil Engineering program or possibly some sort of Law Enforcement (FBI). I'm so proud of him and his willingness to further his education for his family.
I'm not going to lie, it's going to be rough for a little while, but it will be SO worth it in the long run! Bring it on! That's what I keep telling myself...

A Little Side Note

Olivia had her one year doctor visit, actually it was more like a 13 month appointment the last week of September. And man, she was a trooper! She ended up getting five shots and had a blood draw. And of course, I had to take her by myself. I thought she did surprisingly well with the shots. She didn't even cry for the fist two, it was the ones on the outside of her thigh that got her. Would me too though!
She weighs 20 lbs. 14 oz. and is 29 1/4 inches long. Again in the 50%. Miss average Joe!
She had the normal immunizations with a flu shot on top. And the doctor asked if there was a family history of anemia because this is the time they like to check for it. Well, ever since I've known Jade he gets really bad bloody noses, ALL THE TIME! So I mentioned this and he wanted to do a blood test, just to make sure. After being stabbed five times already from shots we had to walk down to the lab to do a blood draw. The lady wanted to draw from her arm but couldn't find a good vein so she did a heal prick, ouch! Livi cried the whole time and it took what seemed forever to milk her little heal to get enough. I hate those things! It was a total flashback to when she was born and we had to do them all the time thanks to jaundice!
Thank goodness for the healing power of ice cream though! We had to make a stop on the way home so all was well with both mom and baby. I guess I shouldn't say baby anymore, she really isn't one!
On another crazy side note.....it's what, October 4th and there is SNOW outside!!! Very wet heavy snow! It wasn't snowing when I went to work at 4 this morning but when I left it was everywhere!! Crazy!! What happened to a nice cool (not freezing) fall?? I feel like I should be getting out Christmas decorations and getting a tree! Geez. Then again, maybe this is natures way of telling me to start saving for Christmas! :)

Happy Birthday to You!!!

Today Olivia is one whole entire year old! In fact as I am writing this I am thinking that at this exact time one year ago today I was holding my little baby girl for the first time. Looking at her in total amazement that something so beautiful could come from me.

I will admit that over the last year I have been more tired, exhausted, frustrated, and again tired than I have ever been in my whole life probably put together but I wouldn't change a single darned thing about it. I have lots of time to catch up on sleep right? Right??

You know when you get pregnant everyone says that your life will change drastically. All true. I just never realized how ridiculously fast it does change. I also never realized how selfish I use to be with my time and what I did. It's nice that I have someone that fully depends on me and counts on me to be there 24/7 for them. I've never felt more important. (Yes I'm being puffy!)

I would like to thank my family for that past year. My husband for being so patient with me and understanding. My parents for being there more than I could have imagined. I love having them be such an important and solid part of Olivia's life. And my in-laws for also being such a large part of her life. We all feel so loved!

Olivia finally has a tooth!!!! It's about time! We thought she would get a tooth before she crawled...nope. We thought she would get a tooth before she walked.....nope. Thankfully she has a tooth before she can drive! Whew! Olivia still has a very strong love for music. (Where did she get that from??) Anytime music comes on she starts movin' and grovin'! She also loves animals. Especially our poor kitty that she plows over daily! Livi is a little sponge. Usually if you do something once, look out because she's right behind you doing it herself. That goes for everything and anything! Livi hasn't really officially started talking yet. She can say mama and daddy! Cats are "yeows" (thanks mom!) and dogs are "oofs" (again thanks mom!). I have no doubts that with a Kindergarten teacher for a grandma that Livi will be speaking her 50 words by 18 months!

We had Olivia's first year picture session with my dad the other day. This one was all of our favorites! (It will be on display at the TF county fair next week! Look for my dad's booth in one of the merchant buildings!)

Happy 1st Birthday Olivia Rose! We love you SO much! One year down and a million fun and love filled ones to go! :)

Holy Moly!

Ok, so I totally stink at this whole blogging thing. Someone needs to remind me regularly to update!
Sorry all, no pictures this time. Bummer I know.
Livi is turning the big ONE on the 28th, where did that year fly off to? AND.......she's walking!!! I bought her one of those walker/rider push things last week and within three days....Ta Da! She's doing it! It is still a little bit sumo wrestler type but heck, she's gettin' around!
Other than that not much else has been going on. Still trying to sell this house, any takers?? Jade has been working his little behind off like crazy. He had this last Sunday off but before that I do believe that he worked for a month straight.
I started a new position at work on Sunday. I am now an Accounting Cashier at Freddies. This is a full-time position and the hours are pretty good, I think. Five days a week 5 AM to 2. So far, I'm not dead yet. We are still adjusting. This all means that Livi is going to daycare, man! But it will be good for her. Like my aunt said, she'll learn to hit, bite, and plow other kids over. So much to look forward to! :)
Lastly, on a VERY spontaneous outing with a friend of mine I got my haircut. No, I take that back. I got my hair butchered! I have bangs now that really aren't too bad. BUT the rest of it, I totally look like an 80's punk rocker chick!! It's HORRIBLE!!!! It looks like I'm trying to bring the MULLET back!! All I heard was "how about some layers?" I thought, sure why not, let's do something different! Yikes!! I would post a picture but I wouldn't want to kill you all from laughter..... Needless to say, I made an emergency call to my "normal" hair person and on Thursday hopefully she will save me. If not, I'm totally shaving my head! (Will post pictures on that one!)

What a Bummer 4th.....

About a month ago I started thinking about the 4th of July. I am one of many that love the family getting together, eating tons of yummy BBQ food, and just relaxing and enjoying the night. I was even more excited knowing that my sister would be visiting before she heads off to Minnesota.
It all started Thursday morning when Livi woke up early and my lovely sister came upstairs to get her so that I could sleep. Pretty soon I heard Robin yelling my name, not good. Livi had projectile vomited minutes after having a bottle. Yikes! She then repeated that same act three times throughout the day. Soon, a nice fever followed.
I HATE having a sick baby. I felt SOOO bad for her! Her fever broke within 24 hours, thank goodness!!! But then her little flu-like bug decided to move south.....
Without too many gross details and long story short, Livi had a very rough weekend and we went through more diapers than I can count. Poor baby.
So, my hopeful plans of a fun-filled fireworks weekend didn't excatly happen. We didn't go anywhere but my wonderful family came over multiple times to make food and just hang out with us.
I have no cute 4th of July pictures of Livi, it would have been pretty hard to get a smile out of her anyway. Maybe next year huh?

New Livi Stats

Olivia had her 9 month, yes 9 month, well-baby check up this last week. This was the most enjoyable doctor visit we have had! When we arrived there was no one else in the waiting area and we were checked in 15 whole minutes before our actual appointment time! Quite sure that will never happen again! Also....NO SHOTS!!! Wahoo! So not all doctor visits are about needles and screaming.
Livi actually weighed less than I thought. I figured that she weighed at least 24 or 25 pounds, just judging by her thighs alone. :) Surprisingly she only weighed 19.2 pounds! So we're still under 20! And she measured in at 27 1/2 inches. She's in the 50% for both height and weight. Perfectly "normal" baby!
She was SO funny while the doctor was asking me all those questions that made my head hurt. She kept talking and saying "Wow" and giving the poor guy all the "Livi-berries" she could. And of course when he asked if she could stand by herself for 5 seconds, when I went to put her down, she held her little legs up with all her might and wouldn't stand up! She always likes to make me look crazy when I tell people she can do things!
I'm so amazed at how fast Livi has mastered crawling in just two very short weeks! The girl is EVERYWHERE!!! It's like having a totally new baby! I have also taken up a new profession as Livi's personal jungle gym! I never knew I was so talented!
Livi is pulling herself up on everything and side-stepping like crazy! I swear she's going to be walking before long! And then I fear that I will be even more tired than I am right now. How I'm going to function I have no clue! So if you see me sometime in the next little while and I have my eyes peeled open with duct tape, you'll know!!!

This Time It's for Real!!

Ok, Livi is officially crawling the "normal" way! Yahoo!! Although, she really only does it when she wants to. Our poor cat is not such a fan. She has somehow figured out how to get around by other means. Hey, whatever works I suppose! She has also recently started pulling herself up on everything! This is especially fun on the couch to get the remotes. The kid is going to be walking before I know it!!
We have already had to start the "no no" thing. Our big 52" TV sits on a rather short stand filled with a ton of movies and all the works. All the pretty buttons are SO tempting. It's the first place she goes everytime without fail. We started taking things away, lightly slapping her hands and telling her "no no". Well now, if you say "no no" to her, she does it herself. She will slap her own hands/arms and of course usually smile. Totally playing the cute card!! (I don't blame her)
Livi still has no teeth! I check every morning to see if something decided to spring through overnight. Nope, nothing! She can still gum her way through some foods surprisingly well. She loves graham crackers! And those fun puffy things, and pretty much anything else she can slobber and gum to death! So fun!!
One of my good friends who's baby was born a month, a day, and ten minutes after Livi is preggers again! Congrats to her! This news got me thinking.....I DO want more kids (don't get me wrong mom and dad) and I do want them to be somewhat close together in age, BUT I'm not sure about having two under two. While I was getting myself and Livi ready this morning I tried to imagine having a newborn too. Well this idea scared the living daylights out of me for sure. So, to all those moms out there that have kids super close in age I graciously bow to you and give you a standing ovation. :)

So one of the best things that a new mom looks forward to happened to me today! For the very first time in her little life Miss Olivia Rose Mecham pooped in the bath tub!!! Wahoo. And not just on the tub....it had to be on the yellow sponge thing too. Just for good measure!
I wasn't quite sure what to do. So I plucked her out and set her on the bath mat and tried desperately to clean it up. What fun! The whole time she was laughing and playing with my feet. Such a helper!
After said poo was cleaned up and fresh water was in the tub (yellow sponge not included in the fun this time) we continued on our merry bath adventure.
To top off this lovely time, after we were clean and well scrubbed we were lathering in lotion on the changing table and Miss Liv decided that she needed to go to the bathroom again...
Well I have to say that the little girl is VERY clean today after TWO baths!
I am sure that we will have many more days like today. Probably some a little bit worse! And I can't wait!!!

Why is it that life can get so busy that you forget those oh so important things like blogging?!? :)

At Livi's six month dr. appointment she weighed a whole 16 pounds 6 ounces! Now....I do believe that she's doubled that. Not really, but she sure seems to be growing that fast! And, she was 25 3/4 inches long. We thought for sure she was longer than that...or maybe that was just mommy wishful thinking! So all is well and she's healthy as a little horse!

In honor of Livi turning six whole months old and because she's so cute and because she plays with her feet (so cute) and for many other reasons, we went to grandpa's studio for yet another fun and exciting photo shoot! Here are the Ta Da results!!!!

She moves SO fast now and it was really hard to catch her holding her feet with both hands and without letting go too fast and kicking like a crazed soccer player!

Oh this one totally shows off her little spunky personality! Is that not the cheesiest face ever!

This one is grandma's favorite one! The famous open mouth Livi smile!

Happy Half Birthday!!

Today is Livi's 6 month birthday!!! Half a year already! It's gone by so fast and has been the most amazing time of my life. I believe that I've reached that point in motherhood where I can't remember life without her. Except for the ability to go to the store without making a complete production out of the event! :)
According to our measurements (which are most likely not very accurate) Livi weighs a good 17 1/2 pounds and is about 27 inches long. Not bad eh? She's getting the sitting up thing mastered and is beginning to think about the idea of possibly crawling, depending on the day. During tummy time she has managed to figure out how to move a little bit by scooting and rotating herself around. She LOVES our cat Millie! She gets so excited when she sees her and loves to grab her, pull on her ears and face, and rip out huge chunks of fur. Luckily Millie doesn't mind it a bit and I think actually likes the attention! Boy is she in for a surprise when Livi does start to crawl!!
She is eating cereal twice a day and now likes all the veggies I've given her. I think her favorite is carrots. She also likes mashed potatoes, avocados, tomatoes, and red bell pepper. The pepper is strange but she loves them!
Livi loves to "talk" to us. She gets so excited when she sees us and is the happiest little bug pretty much all the time.
We love you Miss Olivia Rose!!! And can't wait for the next adventure you bring our way! You are the light of our life and we can't get enough!!

Trip Down Memory Lane

I've been chatting with an old elementary school pal about all the memories we have about when we were younger. So fun! And I figure that since some days I have a hard time remembering how old I am I better write all this stuff down somewhere so that I can look back some day and laugh at myself even more!
First of all I went to elementary school in Hollister. Yes, Hollister. I think that the biggest my class ever got was 12 maybe even 13. The majority of us even went on the graduate together at Filer.
Ok, my mom was my Kindergarten teacher and three of my cousins were in the same class. I remember getting in "trouble" for calling her Mom. I don't remember much from that year other than we made homemade bread once. There was a boy named Daniel who refused to eat it and warned that he would throw up if he did. Well my mom made him at least take a small bite just the try it and what did he do? Throw up! Most likely on purpose!
In second grade our teacher Miss......(can't remember) had two pet rats. RATS! I remember that she would let them out and they would run all over us and our desks pooping and peeing. How gross! Wonder if anyone could get away with that now?
In sixth grade I don't know if we really had a permanent teacher. We had tons of subs though! I remember one that we really didn't care much for. We were SO mean! We put 'dynamite' stickers on her chair and tacks. We were so scared when she sat down and didn't even notice them!!
We all had to participate in band there too. I remember turning off the lights in that big gym and hiding when we heard the teacher coming! I played the flute and I remember learning how to blow just right by spitting rice outside with my friend Michelle!
My friend Sara's mom was the secretary and we both had sisters named Robin! Man did we do a lot of crazy stuff after school waiting for our moms to be done!
I think that my best friend Karalynn and I had more fun memories outside of school. All the sleepovers! And who will ever forget the Target parking lot! What's that phrase parents tell their kids? Don't talk to (or pick up) strangers!!!
I remember all the carnivals we had, the last day of school relays, and of course the plays! Who could forget the plays, Grinch, BagHead, Little Red Riding Hood, probably more but I can't remember!
Such fond memories!! I made lifelong friends there, had my first crush and kiss! I think all of us who survived out there could compile quite the comical book about our years as a Hollister Hawk!

25 Random Things

I was tagged on facebook to do this 25 random things about yourself and I figured that since I spent the time to fill it out I would take this opportunity to add it to the blog! So here ya go!

1. I get a kick out of the fact that after seeing both of my parents some people still ask if I'm adopted.
2. And to go along with that, once I tell people that I was adopted when I was three months old they ask if I remember anything or if I can speak Korean!! (Don't most three month olds?)
3. I HATE spiders!! They are creepy crawly fuzzy creatures! Get chills up my spine just thinking about one!
4. I don't really like shoes. You can ask most anyone that knows me and I usually am wearing flip-flops in winter with snow on the ground....
5. I really like the travel but hate the getting there part. Mainly due to the lovely thing called motion sickness! Wahoo!
6. I would love to at least see all the famous landmarks and such in the states. After that I'll tackle the whole world traveler thing.
7. I don't like being alone. (Maybe because I'm boring to myself) SO glad I now have a little girl to hang out with all day! Also because I don't look so dumb talking to myself in public.
8. One day I hope that I can afford to have that eye surgery done. Darn thing about being Asian, I have no bridge on my nose to keep glasses up! Maybe double sided tape...
9. I gained a whopping 30 pounds when I was pregnant!! They told me to try not to gain over 20 or 25...nice....telling a pregnant hormonal woman to not gain any more weight...I do believe I cried that day!
10. BUT I did lose all that weight and am now 3 or 4 pounds lighter than before!! :)
11. I have played the piano since I was 6. Although I haven't played in a loooong time! I actually have my associates degree in music. One of my dreams is to someday own a baby (or 9 foot) steinway black paino!
12. I also have my medical assistant degree. Crazy! Found out that the whole medical field thing is not my cup of tea. But I did learn a lot! Knowledge is power right? Well then I feel more medically powerful now!
13. 13....I don't believe in bad or good luck. Happy friday the 13th!!!
14. I'm not such a fan of cooking. My poor husband.... I really wish I liked to cook or was at least good at it!
15. I really love horses and the idea of riding. Unfortunately about every time I have attemped to do so it has ended very unpleasantly. I've been bucked off, run over, and was once on a run away when the saddle broke and my head met the gravel road.
16. I hate having my picture taken. (sorry dad!) Good thing my little sister LOVES it!
17. I am a HUGE fan of sleep!!! 8 hours just doesn't cut it for me! If I could I would probably sleep for a good 10 hours or more a night! Too bad my little girl doesn't agree with that idea.
18. Some people think that I am a very shy person. At first maybe so, but that's just because I like to observe. Give me a couple minutes and then I'll be in the middle of it all!
19. I have this weird thing with cereal. Every time I go to the store I have to walk down the cereal aisle. And more than likely I come home with a box or two. Why? I have no clue!!
20. My mom was my Kindergarten teacher! I had three cousins in my class too! I remember she taught us how to say the ABC's backwards and I still remember it! Always will, thanks mom!
21. I have to shower every day. (unless camping) If I don't I just feel gross. Also after getting out of the shower I have to put lotion on all over. Even if it's 100 degrees outside, it's a must!
22. I hope that I don't sound too crazy right now....
23. I have the worst sweet tooth! And I do believe that it's getting worse as I get older. Can't those be removed? My hubby doesn't like sweets. Sure hope our little girl doesn't get mine!
24. Why can't a woman be paid somehow to be a stay at home mom??? Dream of mine...
25. I love my family! Nothing better to me than being with them. Playing games, eating, watching a movie, traveling, doesn't matter to me! We could all sit around and watch paint dry!

Can You Hear Me Now??

I have yet another question for everyone. My cell phone plan is through Verizon Wireless and my contract is up in May. Don't get me wrong I'm pretty happy with the service but I'm paying SO much I'm thinking of switching. I use my cell as my main line. We don't have a home phone. And since Jade is through Nextel because of work I'd like my phone bill to be a little less.....we pay just over $100 as it is for his! I use my phone A LOT!!! I'm one of those crazy people who have like 900 minutes and use almost all of them and yes even more crazy, one of those who text people too. I know....(don't judge me!)
Also, I'd really like to get a new phone! Right now I have a Motorola Krazer. Which is fine. Actually this is the second one I've had. My first one.....I gave to Livi to occupy her while I was changing her, she dropped it, I forgot about it, and I stepped on it. Breaking it into two lovely pieces. The bottom half worked for a couple days, on speaker phone! Boy, that was fun! But the battery doesn't hold a charge very well.
Does anyone have a cell phone that they love or a plan that is somewhat "cheap" and has good service???

Green beans, squash, and carrots OH MY!!!

So now that Livi is five months old we decided to try out some veggies for the first time! She has been having rice cereal morning and night for a little over a month now. My mom suggested trying to just give her the veggies straight and not mix them for fear that she would not like them and in turn not like the cereal anymore. Good idea. Well.....she's not a very big fan! In fact, she literally shutters all over when I try to give her more than a couple spoon fulls! Honestly it's hard not to laugh are her faces but it's also very sad.
You see, her father is Mr. Anti-veggie. Green beans and corn and an occasional cucumber are all I can get him to eat. Me....I LOVE veggies!! I was hoping that Livi would take a quick liking to them and we could eat all the good stuff together! Darn!
So....since I know so many wonderful mothers out there I was hoping that someone might have some advice for attempting to create a veggie lover!

For Sale Anyone???

So, I figure that there may be someone out there that happens to be looking for a house to buy.....at least that's what I'm hoping. Either that or there is someone out there that knows of someone that is looking.....again fingers crossed!!!
Here's the deal....Jade and I are trying oh so desperately to sell our house. It's a nice house, we like it but we bought it to fix up and flip. Not the best timing though! It's located in the good 'ol town of Twin Falls. And only a couple blocks from a nice park. Our neighborhood is pretty nice, rather quiet. And believe it or not, our street also is equipped with it's very own speed bumps! That's right, two in fact!! Sure keeps that crazy traffic down!! :)
So the house was built in 1923 originally. But wait before you judge!!! We bought it and completely remodeled it, really. We came in with some friends and sludge hammers, which is great fun by the way!! So the walls were built from the studs, we knocked some down and added some too.
It has a GREAT kitchen! In fact, I wish I could take it with me!! It has a little breakfast nook and a big island in the middle. (All appliances included!!) Lots of cupboards and storage space too.
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms.....and a room that can be called an office...or family room? The best part of the house has to be the upstairs! The whole floor is a master bedroom/bathroom. It's awesome! It's about 700 square feet itself. Has his and hers walk in closets too!
It has a smaller back yard that is fully fenced and a two car detached garage. Also alley access and an RV dump if ever needed.
Anyway, don't have pictures right now of anything but I can get some if needed or wanted. PLEASE if there is anyone out there that's looking let me know!! We're going to try and sell it for sale by owner and are going to start asking 154,000 or in that range.
All my fingers and toes are crossed right now!!

So one of my very first photo sessions with my dad included this picture. (I was a pretty cute chunky monkey huh?!?)

And...today I took Miss Olivia in to see my dad and try to get the same thing. This is how it turned out...

In looking at our pictures together I can really see Jade in her. She most definitely has his ears! Even the top of her left one sticks out a little bit more like his!!
We also think that she MAY be trying to cut a tooth! All the usual symptoms like tons of drool, chewing on everything she can get her hands on, and oh so fussy! Crazy to be getting teeth at four months??? I'm not sure. All I hope is that if she is it happens quick! I'm starting to miss my always happy-go-lucky little girl!! :)

Wahoo Cereal!!!

As of Saturday Olivia has started eating rice cereal for breakfast and dinner! And so far...she seems to like it! At least she's not complaining about it! She had her fourth month appointment on Friday and weighs a whopping 14 lbs. 2 oz.! I think it's all in her multiple chins! She's also in the 80th percentile for her height which made me SO happy! Maybe she actually stands a chance at being taller than I am! Jade said it could be that or...she may just being going through her growth spurts early and will be done growing by Kindergarten....nice....
So any advice on choosing babies first veggie in a jar? Classic Gerber?? I've heard of making your own but come on......I have enough of a hard time inspiring myself to make a smoothie! I have to say it's so nice knowing so many other mothers who have great advice! I appreciate you all!! :)

Can you believe that Christmas is next week already?!? This year has gone by so fast I swear I was just munching on those Valentines Day candy hearts!!

Well 2008 has most definitely been the best year ever with little Miss Olivia being born. She has changed our life in most wonderful way. I always knew that I wanted to be a mother but honestly I never thought that it would be so amazing and at times so hard. :)

To all our family and friends I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season! We love you all!!

Formula 101

So I am in need of some baby formula knowledge. I am now longer a good working milk cow and am having to feed Miss Livi formula. Big bummer!! Anyway, we got a bunch of free Enfamil in the mail and I've just been using it over the last week or so just because it was free....well, good things don't last forever and we're running a little low. I have kind of priced the stuff in the store and man is it ever expensive!! So...I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that knows of some good quality "cheaper" formula. Any suggestions would be wonderful!! Thanks! :)

Beary Cute!!

My dad bought this big huge bear many years ago on one of the family annual trips to Oregon. I remember that it was so big it wouldn't fit into the car so my dad had him shipped home. When he arrived I remember Robin being so upset because they didn't cut holes in the box and the bear couldn't breathe. Luckily he did survive and is alive and well this day!

It kind of looks like she has the same expression as the bear!

Miss Livi will be 3 months old the day after Thanksgiving and my goodness has time flown by! I know that everyone always says that but I can see why, it's SO true!!

An incredibly late Happy Halloween to all. While I was in training this last week my wonderful family pitched in to help watch Livi. And yesterday while my lovely mom took a day off from school she took Livi to my dad's studio to take pictures of her in her Halloween costume that Robin made. The results.....

Ta Da!! I think she's pretty darn cute!! She's got her dad's little half smile thing going on. The costume has cute little wings on the back too!! Thanks Aunt Robin for being so talented!!

New pictures are ALMOST here!!!
This last weekend my sister and her husband Jacob came to visit from Rexburg. Since it was Halloween and Jade thought that buying Olivia a costume from the store was silly, my amazing sister made her into Tinkerbell! It was SO cute!! We were just going to snap some picutres of it but my dad insisted that we bring her into his studio to pay proper tribute to the costume so...hopefully tomorrow or sometime soon we'll do that and then I'll post the pictures!

Sidenote: A big congratulations to Robin for making it into the RN program at BYU-I!!!!!!

My sister Robin and her sister-in-law Jolene made this Tu-Tu for Olivia. I think it's pretty darn cute!!! Unfortunately it's pretty small so after this it may have a new home on her stuffed elephant! I can't believe how much Olivia has grown already. Before long we may be shopping for a bigger Tu-Tu!!!

Jade and I were over at our friend Kellen and Stephanie's house the other night having our first baby play date, their baby was born on Sept. 29th. So I guess it wasn't much of a play date yet. I was so amazed at how big Olivia looked next to little Brynlee. It's crazy how much she has grown in just over a month!!
I had Jade use their scale to see how much Olivia weighs now and......she's 9 pounds!!! I can't believe it! Although yesterday morning when I was giving her a bath I noticed that she's getting little cute fat rolls on her thighs! Wish they were oh so cute on me!!!
I am pretty happy to say though that I'm only 6 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight! Wahoo! Now I'm just waiting for Olivia to get a little bit bigger so that she can fit in her stroller and then...I'll become one of those fun people that walk the mall!! All in hopes that I can slim down a little bit more! Or at least feel better knowing that I'm trying!! :)

The Many Faces of Olivia

About a week ago my parents came over to our house to babysit for the first time so that Jade and I could go out and actually sit through a whole meal together. (Thanks so much!) My dad brought his camera and while Olivia was sleeping in her Boppy he randomly took pictures. Those Boppys are the greatest!! Love it! We've noticed that Olivia makes the funniest faces and noises while she is sleeping and now....we have proof!! Thanks again dad!! :)

On Sunday afternoon we went to my dad's studio for Olivia's first photo session. It was SO much fun and we got some great pictures, of course!!

This scale says she weighs almost 8 pounds! Not sure if it's very accurate...

I just love our sweet little girl!!!

Of course Grandma had to get in on some of the action too!!!

I don't know how well you can see this one but cute little Livi is going to the bathroom on her dad!! We all knew it was bound to happen somewhere along the way!! I think her face says it all!!!

The Olivia Story

So here's a little bit about how Miss Olivia arrived. I had an appointment on Wendesday the 27th and Dr. Astin, on his way out the door, asked if I wanted to be checked. I said sure why not, just out of curiosity. I was hoping at the time that he would tell me that it would be any day because to be quite honest I was tired of being so big when it was so hot. Unfortunately he told me he thought I had at least two weeks left. So I left the office a little disappointed and wanting to skip home in hopes that I could jump start things myself!!

Well that night just after 11:00 my water broke! Two weeks my foot! So we drove to the hospital, checked in, and started the waiting game. After a couple hours I was started on Pitosin (that's fun stuff) and being the big wimp that I am had a shot of Stadol to take the edge off. Well that certainly took the edge off but it also made me pretty loopy! I actually ended up getting two of those shots since they only last about an hour and a half. After that last one they gave me the pain was there along with the loopy feeling that wouldn't leave. So I gave in around 10:00 in the morning and got an epidural.....LOVE THOSE THINGS!!!! Wouldn't do it again without one!!

By about noon I was at 9 and 3/4 as they put it. The nurse said she could change that herself or I could just hang out and wait for lovely nature. Since I couldn't feel anything past my chest and I was pretty darn comfy I decided to just wait it out, which turned into two hours!!! But, thankfully in the time waiting around for the last 1/4 centimeter the baby moved down a lot by herself. Made my job a lot easier!!

After the first few pushes the nurse said that she could see her head...I wanted to jump off the bed and kiss her!! I was expecting to be there forever!! Like all those nightmares I'd been having. After only 20 short minutes of pushing little Livi was here!!! She's healthy, perfect, beautiful, and we just love her!!!

A little bit about us...

Jade and I met on a blind date six years ago and have been married for almost four years. We live in good 'ol Twin Falls in a house that we are still desperately trying to sell if there is anyone out there that is interested!!
Jade works in what we call custom farming for lack of a better name. He pumps liquid cow 'waste' out of dairy lagoons and spreads it on fields. VERY STINKY!! Believe it or not I have worked with him before...only once. I am now a stay at home mom and am loving every second of it!!
On August 28 we welcomed our beautiful baby girl Olivia Rose. She came 18 days early and the day after the doctor had told me that I still had about two weeks of pregnancy left to enjoy. To my thanks she had a different plan. She weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. She is a very good baby and we absolutely love her to death!! I do have tons of pictures (thanks to my dad) that I will have to post when I figure out how to do that...
